After leaving the birthing ponds, Rus and Michelle followed the other children down a winding path. It was not the same path  Jason had shown to Steed and Molly, but still it led to a pier and a ship. They didn't see a large ocean of water, but rather a brown muddy river.  Rus and Michelle followed the other children down the pier and then up a ramp to board the large vessel. Michelle noticed the wooden orange plaque on the side of the liner that was the same plaque Molly had read, "Omega 2020." Michelle read out loud, "Omega 2020."

Rus said, "Omega means the end. Strange that our journey should begin on ship named Omega 2020."

Michelle and Rus took that step onto the ship and they feared their journey to be born on earth was about to begin.  Natalina followed behind more children boarding the ship and then quickly sought out Michelle and Rus for companionship. Rus stared at Natalina and remembered his time on Atlantis. He remembered that faithless day that Natalina begged for her mother to wake from her strange state of unconsciousness.  He remembered how he had struggled to telepathically communicate with Howie Hayes to get the key codes to open Jason's cell. That day had ended so badly and now here he was. He stood in the metaphysical world on a ship that he figured would take him to his first life on planet earth.

The ship left the dock and began making its way down river.  On each side of the river there were meadows and behind the meadows were great forest.  The metaphysical landscape seemed boundless.  And then there appeared on both sides of the river bank what appeared to Rus to be a huge graveyard.  It was there that the ship began to sink into murky, muddy waters.  The souls of Saturn's children were not trapped to the sinking ship for they were spirits upon the water.  They rose and floated into the air, not to be pulled under by the gravity.  Whether deception or reality, Lucifer's gatekeepers on the ship seemed to be impacted by the gravity and vanished into the depths of the brown, cloudy  water.  Rus felt relief at seeing the gatekeepers vanish.  Most of the children felt horror for they felt as though they were now lost in the mist of an eternity on earth with no one to guide them.  Instinctively they floated in the air toward shore.

Rus didn't realize something was starting to happen to him for he was looking at others and not himself. Rus was amazed at the huge number of souls and they seemed to glitter in the sunlight.  They looked almost like stars in a night sky. Rus puzzled over such a strange image that he should see in the bright light of day.  Then Rus looked for Michelle and Natalina but he could not distinguish them from the others.  It was then Rus realized he was no longer on the same spiritual plane as the other children.  Then he felt a great sleep and he drifted into a slumber.

When Rus woke, his mind was full of plans. He was contemplating his scuba diving trip.  But he remembered where his journey had taken him and he knew it was not just a dream.  He wasn't sure how he had gotten back to the hours before his life had changed. Perhaps Jason had worked a miracle and somehow had changed time to put him back at this point.  Regardless, Rus swore he was not going to take that scuba diving trip. But still, he felt there was so much unfinished business.  And he wondered how long his memory would last if he didn't take the trip, for his memory would become that of something that did not happen.  He hoped that even if it didn't become a memory, it might at least remain in his thoughts as a fantasy.
