Rus crawled out of bed. There was a part of him that wanted to still go scuba diving, though he fought the urge. He didn't want history to repeat itself.
After Rus brushed his teeth he sat down at his desk to look at the calendar on his computer. It was then he realized it was still two weeks before his planned scuba diving trip. He'd thought it was just hours. Then Rus scratched his head. "But with Jason, who knows how time is being changed." Rus laughed, "Maybe I better fix me something to eat before Jason shifts time again."
As Rus fixed himself some breakfast he felt a compulsion to turn the TV on. He started thinking he wanted to refresh his memory on what was happening in the world. He had never been much of a news junky but suddenly he had an obsession to find one of the News Stations and to find it quick. Feeling almost like a man on a quest, he began flipping channels. He could almost hear someone telling him to "flip quicker, quicker, quicker." And so he did. Then he found a station and it was like someone told him, "Yeah, there. That is the channel."
He then pulled his cheese toast out of the oven. Covering the hot cheese with sugar and pouring a glass of milk, he sat down to eat breakfast. He glanced at the woman on TV with her obvious big breast and the "lesbian outfit" she wore to hide her figure. With her totally feminine mannerisms he laughed, "What some women do to dress for success!" Then he pictured what she might look like without the butch wig she wore. He closed his eyes and imagined her with long, flowing, black hair. Then when he opened his eyes and stared into the hazel eyes staring back from the TV, he shook his head. "That is Natalina."
Rus listened to Natalina. She said, "I'm proud to announce that my mom and I have been invited to Cuba by Castro. My mom, Ellen Duboise, is a reporter for the Miami Wayfar Ledger. Castro has promised to allow both of us into areas some news organizations have been reporting as N. Korean/Iraq/Pakistani/Libya Nuclear Outpost. Hopefully, we will be able to put an end to speculation that a crisis is building more dangerous than the Soviet/Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. For those not familiar with that crisis, for more information please go to

Hopefully we will be able to disprove the installation exist and will be able to put an end to the building hysteria over what some are calling the NIPL Nuclear Crisis. Till next report, this is Natalina signing off."
Rus rolled his eyes and ran his fingers through his hair as though that might help him think. "That is weird." Suddenly the TV seemed to change channels by itself. Rus screamed, "Jason, is that you? What are you doing?" Rus then listened to a rather odd dude begin his news report.
"Explosions have rocked the Panama Canal. Some people in Washington are reporting that traffic through the canal has ceased and there is no estimate of when repairs might be made. There is no telling if this will have any impact on the economy. The following web site may provide some information."
http://www.pancanal.com/eng/index.html
"It is doubtful that there is any connection between this and the number of bridges that have been blown up along highways and rail lines in the United States or the number of air traffic control towers that have gone down because of hack attacks. Let the conspiracy nuts spread their rumors and work themselves into a frantic frenzy. The notion that the NIPL League is planning an invasion of the United States is ridiculous. There is not even any proof that such an alliance exists. I mean, the only evidence we have is based on intelligence provided by Russia. Should we trust them or our own CIA?"
"Oh my God. This just in! There are reports of extreme…. No, wait, it now says moderate…. Now it says there are small levels of radiation being detected in Saudi Arabia. The wire service says that no deaths have been reported and that earlier reports that a neutron bomb may have been used in Saudi Arabia are false. White House sources report that a minor nuclear accident occurred off the coast of Pakistan. Regardless, here are some web sites that you may find interesting."

Suddenly, the TV screen went blank for a few seconds. When the picture returned, a different reporter stood in front of the camera.
Rus turned the TV off. "Was all this happening during the days before I went scuba diving? Surely I would have heard someone mention something about the various reports."
Rus finished his breakfast and then got dressed. He left his apartment and got in his red mustang convertible and began driving. He really had no plan of going anywhere. He just felt like driving.
