After taking Rus home in Rus’ own car that George had taken when he kidnapped Rus, George and Gurdy called a friend to pick them up. Their friend Spence Calley rushed to Rus’ apartment where his friends waited.

Feeling somewhat out of it, Rus lay on the couch watching Gurdy and her brother George. Rus said, "I told your mother and sister that a plane trip,  one or maybe both of them is going to take, is going to cause them to be transported back to ancient Atlantis. You must stop them.  They must not take that plane. We must not let what happened before happen again."

George looked at Gurdy. "What foolishness! And mother was frightened by this nut." Then George thought about why he had taken Rus home. He looked at his sister.  He loudly demanded, "Tell me that it is foolishness!"

Gurdy knelt down next to the couch and touched Rus on the forehead. "He is not a nut. He is an Essene, but he doesn’t know it."

"What are you talking about?"

"You saw what I saw and so did Nataellena and mother through my eyes. Nataellena has been sending messages to me through our shared space in the Crystal Computer. She has been reading in the ancient library on Sitnalta. She is sure that Rus is an Essene."

"What is an Essene?"

"It is an ancient Jewish sect. They were and are mystics. During ancient times, some believed they were witches. They were the first Christians. They not only were the only sect to correctly prophesy the coming of Christ, but they helped prepare the way for him. George, there is such a thing as a soul. There really is. And George, we Thinksters aren’t just biological robots ruled by the Crystal Computers. We also have a soul. It is written in the hidden archive on Sitnalta."

"Sounds like a bunch of damned foolishness to me. How could there be such a thing as our having a soul? We are biological robots." Then George again reflected on the ghostly specters of the children he had seen. He knew how they had compelled him to help Rus. "I know those children who appeared like mystical protectors of this man were real. Maybe regular people do have a soul.  But us?"

"What we are learning does contradict what we were raised to believe. It is a strange world, but we should expect the strange.  I mean, look at us.  We are part of a population of well over 1,000,000 biological robots ruled by three interfaced ancient Crystal Computers. Most people would think us more than foolish if we were to tell them who we are.  They would think us insane. Even with absolute proof, most ordinary people would doubt such a population exist."

"To tell the truth, there are days I even doubt that I exist."

Gurdy looked at Rus sleeping soundly on the couch. "Rus, I hope you can hear me on some level. Mother and Nataellena have taken your warning seriously. When they return from Cuba, they will not fly over the Bermuda triangle. They will take a boat to the Panama Canal and then travel up to Mexico. From there they will drive up into Texas."

Rus opened his eyes and nodded. He smiled.

Spence Calley knocked on the door. George and Gurdy told Rus bye and then left.
